Get your cash rebate system on vehicles quick!

by Penny on February 25, 2009

A year ago the government decided to provide car owners with a cash rebate of RM625 whenever they renew their car’s road tax and insurance policy as a means to help with the rising price of fuel. Now, a year later, the government is announcing an end to this cash rebate. I guess the government felt this is the right move since the price of fuel has now dropped even lower than the price of fuel before that shocking price hike.

The last day for eligible vehicle owners to make this claim for a rebate is on March 31, a month from now. So if you have not already collected your rightful rebate, go and get it now from the post office.

The announcement was made in the papers today (read it here). It’s a rather simple procedure of filling up a short form with personal information as well as some information on your vehicle, followed by a thumb print. You also need to bring along your identity card.
