The economy is looking gloomy and I realised that my previous theme was looking rather dark and gloomy also. So here’s a brighter template and let’s hope for a brighter future to come soon. I hope this theme makes easier reading for you too.

I’ve hesitated many Wordpress upgrades for fear of breaking some codes and plugins here and there. Then Wordpress 2.7 came about and I read raving reviews of what it’s like. I was then tempted to give it a shot, but I read and read and read before I even dared hit the upgrade button. But I’ve had no regrets, because it does have a nicer admin panel to reward you for the upgrade as well as many better features.

A word of caution for those who haven’t upgraded and can’t wait to do so. Check out which Wordpress themes and plugins are compatible with Wordpress 2.7 before you embark on your upgrading. It’s worth the time and effort to read about other bloggers’ experiences. I’m no professional blogger so I won’t offer my 2 cents worth here. But one good place to get most of everything you need to know about the upgrade can be found at Web Success Diva.

I modified my theme because the previous one I was using was not tested on its compatibility, so I chose one that has been confirmed to be compatible. And luckily, most of my plugins are compatible too.

Citigroup has become the latest financial institution who has come under to receive a huge bailout from the US government. It has just been confirmed that the US government has agreed to a bailout of the bank at a sum of about $300 billion. According to analysts, the terms of the bailout have been rather easy on Citigroup and it is still unsure if this bailout is a means to end Citigroup’s financial problems. It may just tide the group over, as it may still struggle downhill.

What does this mean for thelocal scene here? Is the local Citibank franchise affected? It remains to be seen. The world is operating in a rapidly changing environment. It changes so fast that it makes no sense anymore.
