Commodities going south a little

by Penny on September 5, 2008

Despite the insufficient demand of oil, the price of oil has gone down, which somehow defies economic theories. But the reality is that it can happen and it has. Because of this, most other commodities are going in the same direction.

I hope this will not be a long sustained angle. I still have high hopes in oil and gold to soar. At least for the coming year, if not for 2 years till year 2010.

On a separate note, this may be a good time to get out of the stock market. Our political unstability tends to cause too much scares within the domestic and foreign investors. Despite talks of shortening trading hours to let brokers and analysts be more efficient in producing market reports, it doesn’t seem to create much investor interest. Frankly, I don’t see much benefit of shorter trading hours. Do you?
