I’ve used Maybank’s cash deposit machines for a few times now. Their machines are the types that look like a drawer where you place your notes into a compartment rather than those where you slip in your cash. I was told that the drawer type of machines are better because the machines are less sensitive and therefore will accept the notes easier.
However, the few experiences I’ve had with their machines tell me otherwise. I’ve never been rejected that many times by other machines in my life! It makes the experience really stressful for me because I happened to have just the right amount in hand to pay for whatever I need through that machine. And since they keep rejecting some portion of the cash, I didn’t have other notes on standby to feed into it to make up the correct amount I want to pay for.
There must be some better way to manage this instead of expecting the customers to keep switching from one machine to another, hoping that all the notes will be accepted. It’s a real pain and the bank should do something about it.

hehehehe…
I do understand how you have felt on that time, especially if there are many people queuing up behind you.
I also faced the same thing.. but i was told that the machine quite sensitive over ‘possible ungenuine’ note. Even the new 50 note are not accepted, that’s why the bank no longer produce this new 50 note…
Yes, a whole line of people were standing behind me, impatient to get to their turn and I felt so bad hogging the machine! Now that you mention it, I’ve actually forgotten that there ever was the new RM50 notes! Haha.
ya..maybank cash deposit really sucks, i get the complaint from my reader..he said that the machine spoilt when depositing money halfway
That must’ve been frustrating. Even worst if the money doesn’t come back out!
