My investments

by Penny on December 1, 2007

I was not a believer in any form of investments until very recently. Though I bought a property 5 years ago as an investment, I clearly didn’t do any homework before signing my future money away only to find that it really isn’t a good buy. I bought very little shares and made a little money from them but that’s all I ever did.

Last year I started learning more about investments and realised that cash in my bank isn’t doing anything. I think my bank charges cost even more than the interest I am earning from the account.

Very slowly, I started investing in unit trusts. I’m a risk-averse person so I invest small and cautiously. I think unit trusts suit me at this moment since they’re one of the safer bets amongst the many investment tools.

I know my investments won’t make me a huge profit but at least they’re making some extra change in my pocket. It’s a better place for me rather than to spend them all at the malls, don’t you agree?
