New telco & infrastructure fund

by Penny on July 8, 2008

I’ve never bought any funds that buy into the utilities and infrastructure sectors. Right now I think these sectors are good and resilient ones to go into. These are companies that provide our daily necessities and I don’t foresee them to be of high risk. Rather, there is much potential for growth in them over the medium to long term. Domestically, we are already paying higher electricity bills starting this month and this only translates to higher revenues for the utility company.

Public Mutual has very timely launched such a telecommunication and infrastructure fund that goes beyond our shores to include the Far East markets (South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand). The fund is called Public Far-East Telco & Infrastructure Fund and you can find out more from their prospectus which is available for download on their website.

Unfortunately this fund is not under the EPF approved scheme.
