I am a regular user of PayPal and have been withdrawing funds using a credit card. Recently, I applied for Public Bank’s Visa Electron debit card because I’ve read from many bloggers and reviewers that this card works with PayPal.
However, I’m unable to get the card linked and confirmed in PayPal. When I try to accomplish this step, I get an error message like this:

The error message reads:
We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check the information you have entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card.
I’ve checked and re-checked and all info provided are correct. I just don’t understand why it doesn’t go through. Anyone has this same experience? Do share with me if you know anything about this. Thanks very much!

Urm if everything is correct then probably you would want to try verifying the card with the bank to check wether the card has been activated or working. I have been using my PB debit card for quite sometime now. I’ve previously got this error when I entered the wrong home address, but guess it was not the case as you’ve checked the info and everything is correct.
I need to keep track of this post since I’m planning to get one debit card for myself. :T Maybe try calling Public Bank?
Hi Jerry, I think I’ll take up your suggestion to check with Public Bank. Why didn’t I think of that?!
Alvin, I’ll make sure to give an update here after doing everything I can to make it work
I have the same encountered, the conclusion is PayPal only accept CREDIT CARD not CHARGE CARD.
The different is charge card only can be use and it recognized by local retail shops, and it can be accepted for making payment / purchase at local retail shop or paying bills via card merchant machine.
