Why the sudden demand for British pounds?

by Penny on September 9, 2008

Lately there has been a surge of demand for the British sterling pounds. Just go around to money changers and banks and you will find that you are unable to get much of the currency. Apparently this has been going on in the last couple of weeks.

It can’t be that there’re lots of holiday-makers heading that way, neither would a large student intake on the UK’s side cause such a big demand for the currency. So is it investment related?

Does anyone know what’s going on with the Pounds?

I believe it is because the pound has come down to an almost 5 year low!

Well it’s still not that cheap with it lingering at 6++ but yeah it could well be the reason.
